It's not Monday yet but it is over a week since the end of naarmamo and I'm curious to know what you've all been up to so links to your September glarts please?

I also promised I'd post a link in this com when I made another version of the Dalek Fairy so... 5 small images of the Dalekfly v2 at my dreamwidth journal.

:-)

Hello there! Would you like power of this comm? I'm not going to be watching it all the time, so it would be nice to have someone in charge in case of spam or disaster or some sort of weird furious flame war breaking out among glartists.

Obviously if you would not like power of this comm someone else could have it, or a few of you, anyone?

If you want a co-mod to delete spam I could try but my computer's access to lj is a bit broken. In any case of sudden and unexpected flamewars I'd probably just hide somewhere else, possibly in a cave while huddling together for warmth with a tiny plastic Dalek. I don't think this com is ever going to be busy like naarmamo though.

sjadventures made all the members mods, back when there were about 50 of us, which was quite funny.

Aww, I love your Dalek Fairy! Very cute.

I haven't been doing much arty stuff. I took a few photos of the clouds today... just because they looked quite amazing.

Thank you!

You could make a post of your amazing clouds and then do a Monday post here and together we might nag people into glaarting?

Hehe .. maybe. I'm feeling a bit lazy to upload photos. Actually I found a photography group on Flickr called 100 Strangers ... the challenge is to make a portrait of 100 strangers. I'm trying to nag myself into joining that, but I'm a bit terrified. Clouds are easier to photograph! :)

You could try prospecting for gold? ;-)

Wow, great photos! I love the ones at the Guildhall. The chandelier in the second photo is lovely, I saw that more than the lion. You have a good eye for detail! :-)

Maybe you should take up the 100 strangers challenge! ;-)

Thank you! I also noticed the chandelier first but as I moved closer to it I saw the lion as well, which was more interesting to me because it was behind me when I noticed it. If I hadn't seen its reflection before I turned around then my walk would've followed a different golden path via the lion instead of a coppery sculpture.

I'm not rly into portraits.

Not a lot of art going on with me, but I did draw one Harmony fox.

tried to reply, and it was marked as spam... :-( wrote another tune, posted a picture of the score, and a link to the video I made so the people who can play videos can hear what it sounds like, and asked for suggestions for a subject for the song...

capriuni said....

wrote another melody:

E-Flat major waltz

Usually, when an idea comes to me for an actual song (rather than something only meant to be a melody), the words come first. I'm just a word based person. But this time, the tune came first, and I'm stumped for the lyrics... put another private video of the tune up [spiralsheep's note: link in separate comment to foil lj spam filter]. And asked for suggestions for a topic. A friend responded with "enthusiastic consent to lovemaking," ... which is even more baffling than my original writer's block. I know it's a common subject for songs, but I have zero experience with it, and no opportunities within 10,000 miles.

so, um... give me some other suggestions?

I seem to have managed to circumvent lj's over-enthusiastic anti-spam measures. VICTORY IS OURS!! \o/\o/

I have no ideas for lyrics. I do, however, have the well-known anecdote about Paul McCartney writing Yesterday and how the lyrics in his head started out as "ham and eggs, la la la la la la ham and eggs... [repeat]", heh. I'm sure something will come to you!

naarmamo seems to have switched my brain to visual art. I haven't written a word of poetry for over a month ( ← this is unheard of! ).

VICTORY IS OURS!

\o/ Power to the people!

okay, so LJ automatically labels anything with more than one link at a time as spam, I guess. Good to know... frustrating. But forewarned is forearmed.

That might be it. Maybe if I draw a picture inspired by the tune, then I can write about what's happening in the picture (and make evolution of the picture the substance of any future public video I make using the tune...

I suspect lj's spam filter also targets links to sites that host videos (so definitely youtube and possibly flickr).

The picture sounds like a cunning plan. Good luck, and show us the result next Monday! :-)

I'll try to show something on Monday. It may, or may not, have anything to do with this tune.

I'm also thinking of doing something with wire and chaotic movements (the three-D art I never got to last month) but I wouldn't be able to scan that... :-/

And I'm partly crediting this thread for nudging my brain back towards poetry this afternoon. I remembered to take my notebook on my walk because I was intending to read and revise some older poems but instead I sat by a secluded lake and wrote a page of new poems. \o/
